| sixspace is proud to
present our annual curated group exhibition this January, Can't
See the Forest, featuring eighteen innovative international
artists. This show explores how contemporary artists, ranging from
Marcel Dzama to Seonna Hong to Echo Eggebrecht, continue the tradition
of landscape imagery by consistently depicting trees in their work.
The exhibition title derives from a saying that means one is incapable
of looking at the larger picture because he/she is too concentrated
on one particular aspect comprising that picture. With Can't
See the Forest we are using the term literally by synthesis:
examining these parts (trees) as they construct a whole (contemporary
