Emmeric James Konrad :: Pedagogic Eruptions

We are proud to announce the inaugural exhibition at 6PR (sixspace project room) is Pedagogic Eruptions by Emmeric James Konrad. This show, which coincides with The Drawing Show at sixspace, will present new and recent works by Konrad ranging from ink drawings on rice paper to paintings on wood. Konrad will be doing a live-painting performance on the night of the reception (December 13th) that allows the viewer to witness the act of creating. Also on display will be a scraggly Xmas tree complete with ornaments hand-painted by the artist.

Emmeric James Konrad graduated in 1992 with a BFA from Otis Parsons School of Fine Art. He has exhibited his exaggerated, beautiful, and seductively perverse works extensively in California, most recently in a group show for the Arts District Fund Raiser and the highly publicized benefit exhibition for the West Memphis Three, Cruel and Unusual. Other exhibition cities include Munich, Germany and Toyko, Japan.

6PR (sixspace project room) is a temporary space next to sixspace that will showcase edgy artists and exhibitions. The goal with 6PR is to experiment with new ideas and create a dialogue regarding emerging contemporary art. Shows at 6PR will open concurrently with exhibitions at the main gallery. With both spaces presenting diverse works, we aim to provide viewers with an in-depth look into the best of what is happening in art right now.
