The Drawing Show (a curated group exhibition)
December 13, 2003 – January 17, 2004

Reception – Saturday, December 13 from 7-10pm
(Gallery will be closed December 21 – January 1)

For sixspace’s annual group exhibition for 2003, the gallery is proud to present The Drawing Show, a show that focuses on drawings and works on paper. As the interest in drawing has swept through the art world with major drawing exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (Drawing Now) and the Hammer Museum along with the rise of groups like the Royal Art Lodge, it’s important to continue highlighting the significance of the medium. The Drawing Show aims to examine the diverse way artists explore the medium by detailing those who utilize drawing as a precursor to paintings and those who's primary medium is drawing.

"Paper is cutting edge. It’s cheap, easy to work with, and part of the culture." – Jerry Saltz

Artists from around the United States will be exhibiting, some established and some very emerging.
